The eighth month in the old Roman calendar, October retained its name (from the Latin "octo" meaning "eight") after July and August, after Julius and Augustus Caesar respectively, when the calendar was originally created by the Romans. October is commonly associated with the season of autumn in the Northern hemisphere and spring in the Southern hemisphere. The Zodiac sign for the month of October is either Libra or Scorpio depending on the day you were born. Sept. 24 – Oct. 23 (Libra – The Balance) Oct. 24 – Nov. 21 (Scorpio – The Scorpion)

Halloween is an annual holiday observed on October 31, which commonly includes activities such as trick-or-treating, attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.
